CHAPTER SIX
HOW TO MAKE YOUR MARRIAGE PARTNER HAPPY
Unhappiness in marriage or in the life of any one of the partners in any union of two is one of the causes of barrenness, poverty, and in most cases disagreements and divorces.
Sometimes one of the partners thinks he or she has done the best that could possibly make the other partner happy yet there is still a quarrel and disaffection. In the case of a marriage union; the woman would cry out: “I have done all the delicious cooking to please you”, then the man would shout back; “I have provided all the necessities”,
But there is still something not done. Partners must therefore, find out that one reason or one thing by all means to make one another happy. When they do, they will never find any cause what-so-ever to regret that God has made man, and ordained marriage.
I pray that the creator will grant you a happy married life in Jesus name. Amen.
True Love
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love. 1Corinthians 13:13
Love is the greatest gift from God to man and it should be the greatest gifts that man aught to be giving to his neighbor. Every spouse must therefore, have this love for his or her partner to make the union of marriage a happy one. Man’s secrete of success is a happy home.
When the home is happy, the parents will be joyful and productive; the children will be sound and healthy.
What makes the home happy is the abiding God’s love and obedience to His will. These two “ACTS” are emphatically provided by the Word of God to make every union – especially marriage a happy and successful one.
The strong vessel is to “Love” while the weaker vessel is to “Obey”. Love comes out of the matured mind of the regenerated being. The reciprocal for love is obedience, which also proceed out of the transformed heart. Hence,
Jesus told His disciples, “If you love Me, keep My commandments”. Love and obedience is the twin ingredient of a happy home. If two people in a union could love and obey one another, heaven will be the limit to their successes. Love is the only pathway to such a greater achievement
As it is written, eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those who love Him. 1Corinthians 2:9.
When and if a man can love God he can equally love the creatures of God; such as his wife, children, neighbors and also his enemies.
Whoever loves stands the chance of being blessed by the creator. Love is the most profitable virtue that man can possess in life. Unfortunately, how to really love is the most difficult duty for man to effectively perform. If we want to make our home truly happy and successful, we must especially love our husbands or wives.
Love is the only key to happiness in every union. The most difficult being for a person to love is the wife or husband. Reasons include much familiarity and exposures to each other. Afar off, they could not observe their weaknesses or experienced the effects of their thorns on themselves. They got attracted by what they saw in their physical nature. Most initial stages of any union are only an infatuation. This is ERROS and not AGAPE. AGAPE is the true love that comes by experiences and not looks or feelings.
In a very close relationship, a friend is the easiest instrument of the enemy as an object of temptations. Hence, man is admonished to love his wife and the woman commanded to be submissive to her husband to be able to put the adversary of marriage to shame.
Your ability to love your wife or be submissive to your husband is a mark of your conversion and a test of your love for God. You can only show true love and obedience to someone very close to you. Only such a person can possibly offend you seventy times seven times. Your ability to forgive such a perpetual or regular offender is a proof of your love for God and also a sign of your regeneration. Man has the characteristics of being offensive always, because of his imperfection due to his ignorance. What everyone who wishes to be perfect must learn to accommodate in love, are:
To bear with the weak, the foolish, the careless, the stubborn, the ignorant, the sluggish, etc. The ability to bear is a mark of true love.
