“Operating in the Power of God”

Acts 1:8“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Introduction

Beloved, every child of God is called to operate not in ordinary human strength, but in divine power. God never intended for us to live weak, defeated, or powerless lives. The Christian life is a supernatural life, powered by the Holy Spirit within us.

The Bible declares in Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

The question, therefore, is not whether God has given you power; —  He has. The question is: Are you operating in it?

Every Christian is expected to be operating in the POWER of God.

Operating in the power of God means living daily in the awareness and demonstration of His divine ability in and through you. It means walking in spiritual authority, victory, and effectiveness.

A to Z: How to  in the Power of God

A – A STEP INTO THE POWER OF GOD: ACCEPT

The first key; —  the letter A: stands for ACCEPT.

1. Accept the Gift of God’s Power

The Word of God says, “Behold, I give unto you power.”
Notice — it doesn’t say, “I will give you.” It says, “I give you.”

That means the power has already been given. The first step to operating in it is to accept it as the word says.

A gift is useless if it is never accepted. God’s power is a divine gift, freely given to every believer through the Holy Spirit. But until you accept it, you cannot use it.

2. Accept What God Says About You

In Acts 1:8, the Scripture declares, “You shall receive power when the Holy Ghost has come upon you.”

To accept means to agree with God. It means to stop doubting His Word and start acting on it.
When you accept the Word, you acknowledge that:

  • You are anointed.
  • You are empowered.
  • You are not ordinary.
  • You are a vessel of divine ability.

Until you accept this truth, you cannot manifest it.

3. Accept the Presence of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the carrier of God’s power. Without Him, you can do nothing.
When you received the Holy Spirit, you received the power generator of heaven.
But it is not enough to have Him in you — you must allow Him to operate through you.

That means yielding to His voice, obeying His promptings, and depending on His strength, not yours.

4. Accept the Responsibility

Operating in power comes with responsibility. You must be a vessel fit for His use — a clean, humble, and obedient heart.
You cannot walk in God’s power while living in disobedience or sin. The Holy Spirit empowers holy vessels, not rebellious ones.

So, accept not only the gift but also the discipline that comes with it.

5. Accept the Purpose of the Power

God does not empower us just for show or status. The power is given for a purpose — to be witnesses of Christ, to heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, preach the gospel, and advance the Kingdom of God.

You must therefore accept that this power is for service, not selfishness.

Illustration

Imagine a wealthy father who gives his son a car key and says, “I’ve given you a car.” The son thanks him but never goes to the garage, never enters the car, never drives it. Though he owns it, he never experiences its power.

That’s how many believers are today — possessing the power of God but not operating in it because they have not fully accepted and activated what God has already given.

How to Activate What You Accept

  1. Believe it. Faith is the key that unlocks divine power.
  2. Confess it. Declare daily, “I have the power of God in me.”
  3. Walk in obedience. Power flows where there is submission.
  4. Pray in the Spirit. Prayer charges your spiritual battery.
  5. Step out in faith. Use what you have been given — speak, heal, declare, and act.

Conclusion

Beloved, God has already equipped you with everything you need to live victoriously. The Holy Spirit within you is the power source of heaven.

All that is left is for you to ACCEPT — accept the gift, accept the calling, accept the power, and begin to operate in it daily.

Remember:

“A gift is only useful when it is accepted.”
So, accept the power today and walk as God’s instrument of authority on earth.

Prayer Points

  1. Father, thank You for giving me power through Your Holy Spirit.
  2. Lord, I accept and receive Your divine power today by faith.
  3. Holy Spirit, empower me to live victoriously every day.
  4. Father, let Your power flow through me to heal, deliver, and bless others.
  5. Lord Jesus, help me to operate daily in Your power for Your glory.
